WHO WE ARE
TFH is a family owned and operating consulting and advisory services firm, specializing in the mobile medical industry. Born out of 20+ years of healthcare and leadership experience, Thorne has a proven track record of building and supporting thriving organizations. As someone who has previously owned and operated a mid-size ambulance service, Thorne brings a unique perspective, and understanding, to their clients.
Having previously worked with several consultants, our Founder felt there was often something missing. Mr. Thorne discovered that very few in ambulance service consulting had ever owned or operated a business. There is something different about someone who has served in the trenches, who has experienced the failures and victories that come from being an entrepreneur, and who can empathize with those who own or are leading a mobile medical organization. This led to the creation of Thorne Consulting (a Thorne Family Holdings company). A fresh approach to common industry challenges, with a perspective and experience like no other.
THORNE
IN ACTION
Beyond providing consulting and advisory services, our Founder & CEO, Ryan Thorne, remains an engaged advocate of our industry. Whether speaking at conferences, working with state/national EMS Associations, or engaging with EMS Educational centers - Mr. Thorne remains steadfast in his pursuit of the EMS vision.
Leadership
Ryan has more than twenty years of healthcare experience, including sixteen years in executive leadership. As the Founder of a successful South Carolina-based ambulance service, Mr. Thorne’s organization grew from a one ambulance operation to a team of more than 250. During his tenure as CEO, the company served more than 240,000 patients in the emergency and inter-facility setting and become one of only a few private entities to obtain exclusive 911 contracts in the state. Mr. Thorne is regularly published in industry trade journals and was recently a contributing author in “Leadership in Action: The Wisdom and Stories of EMS Innovators”. In addition to his work in mobile medicine, Ryan serves as a Guest Lecturer with the University of South Carolina, where he teaches first- and second-year master’s degree students intravenous initiation and maintenance, along with ambulance service contracting and resource coordination for Athletic Trainers. Mr. Thorne maintains his South Carolina and National Registry Paramedic certifications and serves as a Firefighter/Paramedic with Clear Spring Fire Rescue in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Mr. Thorne attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he studied finance and accounting, prior to earning his EMT certification from Northeastern University.
