Ryan D. Thorne
Founder, CEO, & Managing Partner
Ryan has more than twenty years of healthcare experience, including sixteen years in executive leadership. As the Founder and former CEO of a successful South Carolina-based ambulance service, Mr. Thorne’s organization grew from a one ambulance operation to a team of more than 250. During his tenure as CEO, the company served more than 240,000 patients in the emergency and inter-facility setting and become one of only a few private entities to obtain exclusive 911 contracts in the state. Mr. Thorne is regularly published in industry trade journals and was recently a contributing author in Leadership in Action: The Wisdom and Stories of EMS Innovators. In addition to his work in mobile medicine, Ryan serves as a Guest Lecturer with the University of South Carolina, where he teaches graduate students intravenous initiation and maintenance, along with medical service contracting and resource coordination for Athletic Trainers. Mr. Thorne maintains his South Carolina and National Registry Paramedic certifications and serves as a Firefighter/Paramedic with a Greenville County, South Carolina-based fire department. Mr. Thorne attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he studied finance and accounting, prior to earning his EMT certification from Northeastern University.
